The heroine of the game and a very unlucky girl. She awakens on a bus going down a dark, empty road and is confronted by a boy who gives her the unfinished "Little Princess" storybook, and then runs off, leading her to the Rose Garden Orphanage, where devious children lurk..

Jennifer ends up on a strange airship ruled by the Red Crayon Aristocrats, and the boy says that if she does not abide by their rules, she will be killed. A dog named Brown is also onboard and they become allies. She starts to remember her tragic past as she relives it, twisted by her jumbled memories..

As a child, she alone survived an airship crash that took her parents and memories from her. Gregory saved her, but believed her to be his dead son, Joshua. She spent months in his care, and he was very kind to her, though she worried about his sanity, as he often held a gun to his head, dressed her like his dead son, and even called her "Joshua". Nonetheless, she was happy with him.

Wendy saw her one day, and they began exchanging letters. They pretended Wendy was a princess, and "Joshua" was a prince in distress. Wendy finally got her to escape and they promised: "everlasting. true love. I am yours.". Jen gave Wendy her bear-who she named "Joshua",-and Wendy gave Jen her broach to seal the pact, then they went to the orphanage.

She spent the next year being bullied by the orphans, because of her low rank and Wendy's desire to be her only friend. She had to do the laundry and was often tied up, causing the adults to be mad when she was late as a result. Jennifer was very unhappy, until she found a puppy-Brown. Together, the two braved everything thrown at them.

Together, the two braved everything thrown at them. Jealous, Wendy made her decide to sacrifice either herself or Brown, knowing she would give up the dog. After realizing her friend was dead, she finally stood up to them.

Though Jennifer was made the new Princess, she could not save the others when Wendy returned with Gregory, whom she had made into Stray Dog, and had him murder them. Brown's death gave her the courage to survive, and learned that it was Wendy who had been disguised as the boy, Joshua, trying to make her remember their promise. After apologizing, Wendy, too, is killed, Gregory finally came to his senses at the sight of Jennifer, and he shot himself. This tragedy is what made her lock all her memories away,

Jennifer comes to terms with her past and finally sees things clearly. In her "heart", she remembers and hears the others as she wanders through the Rose Garden Orphanage where she spent her childhood, though she meets only Wendy, and leaves both the girl and her own guilt behind there. At the bus stop,, she finds Gregory writing a story for his son. He tells her that there is no such thing as everlasting love, then apologizes and offers to write a story about a little princess for her. She then finds Brown as a puppy and leaves him leashed in the shed, building a Bucket Knight to watch over him to ensure she never forgets her promise and vows to protect her memory of him even in death. Her fate after this is never clearly revealed, but it's likely she rides the bus and wakes up back in the real world.
